Much of the deeper moisture and thunderstorm activity is expected to remain south of central North Carolina, limiting rainfall totals locally.
Most areas should receive less than a quarter inch of rain, although scattered showers are likely as the front passes through during the late afternoon and evening hours.
Temperatures on Monday will still warm into the low to mid-70s before cooler air filters in behind the front Monday night.

Tuesday brings a return to sunshine and noticeably cooler conditions, with highs dropping back into the 70s.
Another weak system could bring scattered showers Wednesday night into Thursday, but rain coverage and totals again appear fairly limited.
Looking further ahead, the overall pattern is expected to turn warmer and drier once again.
