Crossing All Borders Ministries, based out of Harnett County, North Carolina, has become a beacon of hope for vulnerable communities both down the street and across the globe. The organization began with an idea and dream by the founder in Sunday school class more than 40 years ago, that’s when founder Joeth Strickland began helping others.
Roots with Purpose was the CBS 17 3-Degree Guarantee charity for August 2026. Every day that the CBS 17 Storm Team got the forecast high temperature correct within three degrees, CBS 17 & Michael & Son Home Services donated $100 to the organization. At the end of the month, they handed over the total donated in the form of a giant check.
Their mission aims to cross geographic, ethnic, economic, educational, and denominational borders while focusing on delivering tangible goods to those facing their darkest hours. From local families experiencing sudden hardships to international medical clinics, their reach is expanding rapidly. At the heart of the organization’s local efforts is a deep commitment to immediate community impact.
The ministry regularly packages and distributes hygiene kits specifically designed to support the homeless, shut-ins and nursing home residents. Recognizing that collaboration multiplies impact, they partner with Grace Community Church to stock their bi-monthly toiletry pantry and supply hygiene kits to Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine for outreach clinics. For individuals suffering from mobility or health challenges, the ministry provides vital, durable medical equipment like hospital beds, walkers, and electric wheelchairs at no cost.
When disaster strikes, Crossing All Borders Ministries scales its operations to meet massive demands. During the Helene aftermath, they coordinated and dispatched 25 truckloads, carrying an incredible 200 pallets of relief supplies directly to Western North Carolina. Another five truckloads were sent to Kentucky to assist families trying to rebuild their lives after catastrophe struck. This rapid disaster response also extends to localized crises; families who lose everything to house fires receive furniture, clothing, kitchen supplies, and home décor to help restore dignity and rebuild a home.

Remarkably, their vision extends far beyond state lines. The ministry actively supports international ministries and medical clinics in over 100 nations, including the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, the Philippines, Sierra Leone, Ukraine, and Zambia.
The lifeblood of this massive operation is the community itself. In 2025 alone, nearly 1000 volunteers representing school and church groups came together to serve more than 6000 hours.
Whether through donating goods, volunteering time, or offering financial support, every contribution helps erase a border and deliver hope to someone in need. Crossing All Borders is always looking for volunteers of any age and works with other charities to help meet their needs, too.
