Nash County woman turns $1 play into jackpot worth more than $100,000

SPRING HOPE, N.C. (WNCN) — A Nash County woman won a jackpot worth more than $100,000, last week, lottery officials said.

Bonnie Wright of Spring Hope used a $1 play to win the $103,296 jackpot of the Jackpot Spectacular Digital Instant game last Wednesday, Aug. 26, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

According to NC Lottery, the odds of Wright’s win are 1 in 40 million.

Officials said Wright visited lottery headquarters in Raleigh last Friday, Aug. 28, to collect her prize and received $74,384 after the state and federal tax withholdings.

A progressive jackpot game, Jackpot Spectacular sits at 94,000 as of Monday, according to NC Lottery.
