DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Two people were seriously injured in a drive-by shooting in Durham near North Carolina Central University late Sunday night, police said.

According to the Durham Police Department, a man and a woman were in the area of Concord and Dupree Street when shots were fired from a passing vehicle.
The man and the woman were taken to the hospital. Their injuries are considered serious, but non-life-threatening, according to Durham police.

The incident happened less than a mile from the NC Central campus on Fayetteville Street.
The Durham Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting.
