Second cold front brings more rain to central NC

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Our second cold front of the week will bring another chance of rain Wednesday night to central North Carolina.

Most of the rain will come overnight Wednesday into Thursday, leaving us with mostly dry weather during the day.

Tuesday morning starts with some fog and cooler temperatures, thanks to the first cold front of the week that moved through Monday.

The rest of Tuesday then warms up to 71 with mostly sunny skies. Most of Wednesday will be dry ahead of an approaching cold front. Highs then will climb into the upper 70s, with the showers holding off until mainly after sunset. 

There’s the chance for a few lingering showers very early Thursday morning before drier conditions prevail into the afternoon with slightly cooler highs still in the 70s. 

Friday starts another warm-up with highs in the 70s, but Saturday and Sunday will feature mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

The start of next week will bring a string of lower-90s temperatures and higher humidity as an early taste of summer arrives. 

FORECAST

TUESDAY will see a return to mostly clear skies. The high will be 73. Winds will be light out of the north.

OVERNIGHT will be mostly cloudy but dry. The low will be 47. Winds will be calm.

WEDNESDAY will be mostly dry until the evening hours. The high will be 78. Winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour out of the south.
