Fayetteville readies for night of joy and purpose at 10th annual Health & Fitness Cancer Awareness event

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — The 10th annual Health & Fitness Cancer Awareness event in Fayetteville on Friday promises an evening filled with fun and movement.

Taking place at the Blissful Alchemist on Ray Avenue, the annual cancer awareness event kicks off at 6 p.m. and invites community members to join the LIT club for a night of dancing led by top instructors and line dancers. 

Proceeds from the event will benefit “1 of Us Supporting Women’s Cancers,” a Raleigh-based organization dedicated to supporting women affected by cancer. 

Stephanie Brown, founder of Dancing Without Sin, expressed the event’s significance.

“It’s about joy; they’re going to have so much fun because we know that movement and music to me equals magic,” Brown said, also sharing her personal connection to the cause. “I have not been, knock on wood, affected personally in my body with cancer, but I have been affected by cancer because of my loved ones, so that’s definitely my why.”
