2-car crash on South Raeford Road at I-295 in Fayetteville leaves 1 dead, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Fayetteville Wednesday morning, police said.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the crash happened just after 7 a.m. on South Raeford Road at Interstate 295.

The crash resulted in the death of one person, whose identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification, according to Fayetteville police.

Police said South Raeford Road is shut down at I-295 while they investigate the incident.

Traffic is being diverted from the area and drivers are asked to follow all directions from officers and use an alternate route, according to Fayetteville police.

The crash remains under investigation and more information will be provided by Fayetteville police when it becomes available.
