WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WNCN) — Several lanes on Rogers Road in Wake Forest will be closed this week in order to install a new gas line, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said Monday.

According to NCDOT, work on the gas line under Rogers Road near Capital Creek Drive began on Monday night and is expected to be completed by Friday, weather permitting.
Lane closures will take place on Rogers Road near Capital Creek from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. while the gas line is being installed, according to NCDOT.

NCDOT said steel plates will be placed over the trench during the installation, which will be removed and the road will be paved over when the work is completed.

Drivers are asked to use caution, slow down, and allow extra time to reach their destination when going through the work zone.
According to NCDOT, the new gas line is being installed before the planned construction of the Rogers Road Grade Separation project, which will replace an existing railroad crossing with a bridge over the CSX S-Line.
