RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A suspect was arrested early Saturday morning after a drunken fight led to a victim being stabbed 10 times in Raleigh, police said.

The incident was reported around 12:50 a.m. at a home in the 3000 block of Lake Woodard Drive, just off Brentwood Road in northeast Raleigh, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
Officers said two men who live with several others at the home became inebriated while drinking alcohol. A child was present during the fight and stabbing, according to officers.
The pair got into a dispute, which led to one man stabbing the other eight times in various areas of the chest, abdomen, and the front part of the body, police said.

The victim was also stabbed twice in the back, according to officers.

The stabbed man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, an officer told CBS 17.
The 22-year-old suspect was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, intent to kill/seriously injure, police said.
