A three-month investigation began after authorities discovered more than 280 “calls for service” during a year at the Golden 5 Sweepstakes Parlor at 3132 Calvary Drive, according to a Raleigh Police Department news release on Thursday afternoon.
The calls starting in June 2025 until this June included disturbances, assaults, drug violations, stabbings, robberies, weapons violations, and assaults of law enforcement officers, police said.

Officers said Raleigh police and N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement agents executed three search warrants on August 28 — one at the Golden 5 Sweepstakes Parlor and two at addresses linked to the business.
The news release said the agents seized:
- $180,970 in U.S. currency
- Three illegally possessed firearms
- 29 CPU boards from illegal video gambling machines
From the investigation, five suspects were arrested and charged with a total of six felonies and 20 misdemeanors, police said.
