Head coach Rod Brind’Amour announced Jordan Staal has a tear in his calf and is expected to miss anywhere from one to two months. He called the injury “a freak thing” that happened during warmups.

Staal missed Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers, with Mark Jankowski stepping into his spot in the lineup.
