Woman shot, man assaulted in Durham carjacking on Lynn Road, police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was shot, and a man was assaulted in a Sunday morning Durham carjacking just blocks from the scene of a later double stabbing Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The carjacking was reported around 6:10 a.m. at 70 Lynn Road, where a new housing development is under construction off N.C. 98/Holloway Street, the Durham Police Department said.

When police officers arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound and a man with injuries from an assault, the news release said. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, officers said.

The Lynn Road carjacking involved a Dodge Durango and Ford Escape, which were later recovered, police said.

The carjacking location is just a half mile west of 300 Chandler Road, where a double stabbing happened later in the day, according to police.

Just after 4:50 p.m., officers said two men suffered stab wounds and another man was assaulted.

All three were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
