DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — The group spearheaded by Michelle Kenan, the woman who was killed in a shooting at an apartment complex in Durham, will be holding a memorial for their founder as police continue their investigation.

The 5K Foundation is looking to help support Kenan’s family through hosting a virtual fundraiser. One of the co-founders, Tangela Kenan, shared with CBS 17 that the fundraiser will help provide support to Kenan’s homegoing and immediate support for her family, including her 12-year-old daughter.

“Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference and help ease some of the financial burden while the family mourns this tremendous loss,” the website said.
