RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced its conference schedule for the 2026-27 men’s basketball season.

The biggest takeaway: North Carolina will not play NC State in Raleigh this year. It marks the first time the Wolfpack won’t host the Tar Heels since the 1946-47 season. Last year, UNC did not host NC State in Chapel Hill, marking the first time that had not happened since 1919.
NC State also won’t host Duke and instead will travel to Cameron Indoor Stadium, a reverse of last year when the Blue Devils played at NC State but did not host in Durham in return. It’s the first time since the early 1900s that the Wolfpack will not host either UNC or Duke in Raleigh in the same season.

The changes to traditional matchups began last year after the ACC decided to shorten the conference schedule to leave more opportunities to play marquee nonconference games. Duke benefited from it this past season, scheduling a neutral-site late March game against then-No. 1 and eventual champion Michigan. The Blue Devils edged out the Wolverines in that game and became the new top team in the country for the rest of the season.
The 18-game ACC schedule will begin in late December and end the first weekend of March Games dates and times will be announced in September.
