AUBURN, Ala. (WNCN) — For the second year in a row, NC State baseball will have to defeat the Auburn Tigers to keep their season alive.

The Wolfpack (32-23) and host Tigers (38-20) will battle in an elimination game in the 2026 Auburn Regional on Saturday afternoon. First pitch at Plainsman Park in Alabama is scheduled for shortly after 3 p.m. ET.
It will be the second time NC State takes the field in just a matter of hours. Bad weather on Friday meant the Wolfpack and UCF Knights couldn’t finish their game, and it was continued on Saturday at noon. NC State ended up losing it 9-3, putting them in the losers bracket of the double-elimination regional with host Auburn.

The Tigers were upset earlier Friday by Milwaukee, who immediately jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back. The Panthers ended up stunning Auburn, the No. 4 overall seed in the country, by a final score of 13-8.
The winner of Saturday afternoon’s matchup will move on to play the loser of Saturday night’s contest between UCF and Milwaukee in an elimination game Sunday afternoon. The loser of this game will see their season come to an end.
