Dry final day of the month before rain chances return Monday in central NC to kick off June

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The final day of May on Sunday will be dry, sunny and comfortable. Temperatures will start in the upper 50s and give way to highs in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. 

It’ll also come with much lower humidity than Saturday. 

Precipitation chances return on Monday with the start of June. A passing cold front will spark scattered showers and storms, with over 0.25 inches of rain expected. 

The rest of the work week looks mostly dry, with upper 70s and low humidity Tuesday and Wednesday, giving way to middle to upper 80s on Thursday and Friday. 

Upper 80s stick around through the weekend into early next week. Isolated showers are possible again next Sunday and the following day.

FORECAST

OVERNIGHT will be partly cloudy. The low will be 58. Winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour out of the northeast.

SUNDAY will be mostly sunny. The high will be 80. Winds will be light out of the northeast.

MONDAY will be mostly with scattered showers and storms. The high will be 81. Winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour out of the southwest.
