WILSON, N.C. (WNCN) — A WakeMed Campus Police officer has been suspended after his Friday arrest in Wilson County on various charges, including misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a female, and felony second-degree kidnapping, officials said.

Jeremy Lee Bohne, 39, was arrested Friday after incidents that happened between Wednesday and Friday, according to an arrest warrant.
Bohne, of Wilson County in an area southwest of Wilson, was suspended by WakeMed “immediately upon his arrest,” a Saturday afternoon email from WakeMed officials said.
Bohne pointed a long rifle at a woman during the incident in which she was also grabbed “by the arm and collar,” an arrest warrant sworn out by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said.
He also assaulted the same woman by using a boxcutter and “cutting off her shirt and bra,” the arrest warrant said.

Bohne was also charged with a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and misdemeanor interfere with emergency communications, arrest records indicate.

During the incident, Bohne took a cellphone from the woman to keep her from placing a call during the assault, the arrest warrant said. Bohne also grabbed the woman and caused her to fall while he was trying to pull her back inside a home, the warrant said.
Bohne is being held in the Wilson County Detention Center on a “domestic violence hold,” according to a conditions of release order.

WakeMed spokeswoman Kristen Kelly said that WakeMed is conducting “a thorough internal review while cooperating fully with external investigations.”
“WakeMed has a longstanding, zero-tolerance policy in place for any threats or acts of violence. We take any allegation of harm extremely seriously,” Kelly said in an email to CBS 17.
Bohne’s first court appearance is planned for Monday morning in Wilson County District Court.
