DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in Durham said a man was seriously injured in a daytime shooting on Saturday afternoon.

The shooting was reported just after 3:35 p.m. in the 300 block of E. Lawson St., between S. Roxboro Street and Fayetteville Street, according to a Durham Police Department news release.
When officers arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound, police said.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital suffering from serious injuries, according to the news release.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” officers said in the release.
