Teen shows up at Raleigh Waffle House with gunshot wound

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A teenager showed up at a Raleigh Waffle House with a gunshot wound early Saturday morning, police said.

The incident was reported around 4:15 a.m. at the restaurant at 2320 Dixie Forest Road, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

The gunshot, which did not happen at the Waffle House, was self-inflicted, but police did not say if it was accidental. Police also did not say how the teenager obtained a gun.

The teen boy was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to police.

The Waffle House is located just off Atlantic Avenue near Old Wake Forest Road and Spring Forest Road.

Police also did not say how the teenager obtained a gun.

Officers said the teenager’s shooting injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, and he is expected to recover.
