Convicted felon Jonathon Michael Jackson, 39, was arrested in January after deputies searched his home south of Sanford, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Jackson was found with an AR-15 style rifle and various drugs — along with a 21-year-old woman — in the January 21 raid, deputies said then.
He was booked in the Wayne County Jail on February 24, according to Vinelink records.
Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff said Jackson was “mistakenly released” from the Wayne County Jail, but did not say when.

Records indicate Jackson was released the morning of May 25 in Wayne County. The Vinelink info about the release simply says: “Sentence served.”

CBS 17 has reached out to Wayne County officials for details about the incident.
Lee County deputies said Saturday that a search warrant on Thursday led to Jackson’s recapture — leaving him out and about for at least 10 days.
The re-arrest happened after deputies obtained a warrant for a Sanford home on Keith Drive to search for Jackson, according to Lee County deputies.
Another warrant to search the home said agents discovered a young child was in the home along with:
- Two guns — one of which was stolen
- Methamphetamine
- Mushrooms
- Synthetic marijuana
Also, when he was detained in a deputy’s cruiser, Jackson tried to hide a bag of meth in the car, officials said.
