DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A teenager was arrested in connection with a shooting that left a man dead in Durham Thursday, police said.

According to the Durham Police Department, a man was found with a gunshot wound at the intersection of Cornwallis Road and South Roxboro Street just before 4:30 p.m. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as 26-year-old Jalen Mailk Perry of Durham, according to police.
The same day as the shooting, police said they identified 19-year-old Zamir Browder of Durham as the suspect in Perry’s death.
A warrant filed by Durham police shows Browder is also accused of shooting into a home occupied by a woman.

Browder was taken into custody and charged with murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling, according to Durham police.

According to court records, Browder was not given bond. He made his first appearance in Durham County court on Friday and is scheduled to return on July 2.
Police said additional charges are being reviewed and considered. More information will be released when it becomes available.
