The Hurricanes announced late Sunday night that a Stanley Cup victory parade will be held Saturday, June 20, beginning at 11 a.m.

The team said the parade will take place in downtown Raleigh, though additional details — including the route, road closures, parking information and any potential rally plans — have not yet been announced. Hurricanes officials said more information will be released later this week.

The celebration comes less than a week after Carolina defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in a 3-0 shutout victory in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final to secure the second championship in franchise history and the organization’s first title since 2006.

Fans are expected to travel from across North Carolina to take part in the festivities after the Hurricanes completed one of the most dominant postseason runs in franchise history.

Carolina finished the playoffs with a 16-3 record and closed the Stanley Cup Final by winning three consecutive games against Vegas.

The Hurricanes relied on their trademark defense throughout the closing stretch of the series, holding the Golden Knights to five total goals in Games 4 and 5 before posting a shutout in the championship-clinching Game 6 victory.

Staal was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP following Carolina’s championship run.

The title also adds another milestone to the legacy of head coach Rod Brind’Amour, who captained the Hurricanes to their first Stanley Cup championship in 2006 before leading the franchise to a second title behind the bench 20 years later.
