Moderate Tuesday before heat, humidity make major comeback in central NC

Highs on Tuesday will top off in the middle to upper 80s under mostly cloudy skies. There’s a stray chance for a shower, but most places will remain dry. It’s now been more than 3 weeks since RDU picked up measurable rainfall.

Wednesday will feature lower to mid-90s before another record high in the upper 90s is possible on Thursday. That would make the 16th record high of the year, marking the most ever in a single year.

It’ll cool down to the lower 90s with a cold front Friday thanks to scattered showers and storms. 

The Carolina Hurricanes Stanley Cup Championship Parade is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. It’ll be cloudy and warm, with just a small shower chance.

Partly cloudy skies and lower 90s are on tap for Father’s Day Sunday, before middle 90s with scattered showers and storms make a return the next week.

FORECAST

TUESDAY will be mostly cloudy with a stray shower. The high will be 86. Winds will become calm.

OVERNIGHT will be mostly cloudy. The low will be 68. Winds will be calm. 

WEDNESDAY will be partly cloudy. The high will be 94. Winds will be 5 to 10 miles per hour out of the southwest.
