MANiFest 2026 honors Juneteenth with two-day event in Fuquay-Varina

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WNCN) — Juneteenth celebrations kick off in Fuquay-Varina.

The community will come together for MANiFest 2026: “Freedom Rooted. Future Bound.” at the Fuquay-Varina Arts Center on Friday and Saturday.

The two-day event will honor the legacy of Juneteenth while paving the way for future opportunities and achievements.

Organizers said the festivities aim to blend education, culture and community spirit into one unforgettable experience.

“Juneteenth is for everyone; it’s a celebration of liberation, and at the same time it’s about communication,” said Professor Alexander Flowers, who organized the event. “Us learning from each other about how we can actually impact each other’s lives and to move matters forward.”

The festivities begin Friday evening with MANiFest’s kickoff event and continue Saturday with MANiFest Community Fun Day, featuring a Freedom Run & Walk, a health and wellness fair, and workshops focused on financial literacy and STEM education.
