Man dies in Durham head-on crash after crossing N. Roxboro Street centerline: Police

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A Durham man died in a wreck early Sunday morning after crossing the centerline of a road and crashing head-on into a truck, police said.

The crash was reported just after 1:35 a.m. at the north Durham intersection of N. Roxboro Street and E. Maynard Avenue, according to a Durham Police Department news release.

A 2012 Acura MDX was being driven south on N. Roxboro Street when the driver traveled into the oncoming lanes, the news release said.

The Acura, driven by Nerlyn Ayala-Lindo, 33, collided head-on with a 2006 Ford F150 towing a trailer, according to police.

Ayala-Lindo died at the crash scene, police said.
