$30 scratch-off ticket turns into $100,000 winner for Cary man, NC Lottery says

CARY, N.C. (WNCN) — A Cary man took a chance on a scratch-off and it turned into a big win, the North Carolina Education Lottery said.

According to the NC Lottery, Simson Biswas bought a $100,000 Cash Payday scratch-off ticket worth $30 from the Park N Shop on East Chatham Street.

That ticket turned out to be worth more than $30, as the NC Lottery said he won the top prize of $100,000.

According to the NC Lottery, Biswas took home a total of $72,018 after state and federal tax withholdings.

Wake County received $64.3 million in support from the NC Education Lottery funds last year, lottery officials said.
