NC Amber Alert issued for endangered New Bern teen traveling with man: Police

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities issued an Amber Alert Saturday morning for a missing teen from the North Carolina coast who is with a man in a GMC Yukon SUV.

Isaiah Kavon Owens, 15, is missing from New Bern in Craven County, according to the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.

The New Bern Police Department initially began the search, with the Amber Alert issued just before 8:30 a.m. Saturday. No photo was included.

The alert said Isaiah is with a man, Kenneth Lee Brantley, age 43, and reports said they are possibly headed to South Carolina.

Isaiah, who has a speech delay with autism, and is Black, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 100 pounds with black hair, and brown eyes, the alert said. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and red and blue sneakers.

Brantley is described as Black, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 162 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a white t-shirt with a colorful design, gray pants

The teen and man are traveling in a black 2012 GMC Yukon with South Carolina license tag number XFH752.

The Amber Alert included an address for the Palace Motel in New Bern at 1901 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The Amber Alert said anyone who has info about their location should contact the New Bern Police Department immediately at (252) 633-2020, or call 911 or dial *HP.
