CLAYTON, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in Clayton are investigating after a person was found dead inside a car outside a grocery store on Sunday.

The incident was reported at the Lowe’s Foods store at 11711 U.S. 70 Business, according to a short statement from Clayton town officials.
Clayton authorities did not indicate when the discovery was made, but information was first released by Clayton town officials around 2:20 p.m.
