RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A man was hospitalized after an early Wednesday morning shooting at a Raleigh motel, police said.

Officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded around 4:54 a.m. to a reported shooting on the 2600 block of South Saunders Street, where the Claremont Inn is located.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. He was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police said.

Investigators remained at the scene Wednesday morning, searching the area for evidence and any possible suspects. Police have not released additional information as the investigation continues.
