DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A man was injured after a stabbing was reported during a dispute with two men in Durham Saturday afternoon, police said.

The incident was reported just before 2:50 p.m. as an aggravated assault in the 3000 block of Ross Road, in eastern Durham off N.C. 98 near Chandler Road, police said.
The incident started with a man and woman having a “verbal altercation” with two other men, according to a Durham Police Department news release.
When police arrived, they found a man who was suffering from injuries, officers said. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A suspect was detained and questioned but was later released while police continue the investigation, according to the news release.
The victim suffered injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
“This is an ongoing investigation, and we have no further information to release at this time,” the release said.
