Man taken to hospital after downtown Raleigh stabbing during argument near Moore Square: Police

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A man was taken to a hospital after he was stabbed in downtown Raleigh near Moore Square late Sunday morning, police said.

The incident was reported just after 11 p.m. along South Blount Street near Wolfe Street, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

The assault happened after the victim got into an argument with another man along the side of the road, just south of Moore Square, police said.

The victim suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The two men did not know each other and it’s not known what spurred the dispute, according to officers.

Police used crime scene tape to block part of the street and the sidewalk, where a lone shoe was spotted. Following the incident, a blood-soaked rag was left on the sidewalk near a random chair.

The suspect who left the scene was not apprehended, police said.
