Heat and humidity return to central NC by the end of the week

Clearing skies and lower humidity will lead to a comfortable start to Wednesday with morning temperatures in the 60s for the first time since the end of June!

That’s the last time we’ll have comfortable conditions for a while though. Wednesday afternoon, we’re back into the mid-90s! Wednesday will also be a bright, sunny day with light south winds.

High pressure again takes control of our weather and highs will continue to climb. Thursday and Friday will be rain-free and hot with afternoon temperatures flirting with the triple digits. In addition to the hot weather, the humidity will again be high making it feel as hot as 107° some days.

After our hot end to the week, temperatures will fall a few degrees, but mainly to what is typical for this time of year. Each day will start in the low 70s before warming into the low 90s with a spotty chance for rain or storm, mainly in the afternoon and evening.

FORECAST

OVERNIGHT will be mostly clear. The low will be 67. Winds will be northeast then south at 5 miles per hour.

WEDNESDAY will be sunny. The high will be 95. Winds will be light out of the south.

THURSDAY will be mostly sunny. The high will be 95. Winds will be southwest at 5 miles per hour.
