Wake County Public Health announced a series of monthly back-to-school vaccination clinics aimed at helping students stay up to date on required immunizations ahead of the new academic year.

“Making sure students are up to date on their vaccines is one of the simplest ways we can support a healthy start to the school year,” Wake County Commissioner Susan Evans said. “These monthly clinics give families convenient, accessible opportunities to check one more thing off their back-to-school list.”

North Carolina law requires certain vaccines for students entering kindergarten, seventh grade and 12th grade.

During each clinic, public health nurses will administer vaccines, answer parents’ questions and help families confirm students meet state immunization requirements for school enrollment.

Clinics will offer vaccinations for students entering kindergarten, seventh grade and 12th grade. Officials said the final patient will be seen 15 minutes before closing time.

Families are encouraged to bring their child’s vaccination records and insurance card, if available. A parent or legal guardian must also be present with a photo ID.
