In a statement released on Wednesday, Durham Academy leaders said they learned on July 17 that the coach — a school alumnus who served during the 2026 spring track and field season — had recently been arrested.

“The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority,” school leaders said.

School officials said they have received no information indicating the charges are connected to any Durham Academy students, families or school activities.

“We will cooperate fully with any law enforcement request for information,” the statement said.
