HENDERSON, N.C. (WNCN) — Two people were hurt in a shooting in Henderson Wednesday night, according to police.

Officers responded to the 700 block of Marshall Street around 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area. Once on scene, police said they found a 37-year-old with a non-life-threatening wound to the head. The person received medical help at the scene before being taken to a hospital for further treatment.

Shortly after that, according to the Henderson Police Department, a 26-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound arrived at a local emergency medical facility. Police said they believe the second person also sustained that injury during the same incident on Marshall Street.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting.
