Flooding, fallen trees block some central NC roads

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Some roads were blocked by fallen trees or high water as inches of rain were dumped on central North Carolina on Thursday morning, triggering flash flood warnings in several counties.

The heavy rains moved through the area starting before 2:30 a.m. with continuous lines of storms and rain tracking from west to east over central North Carolina. Click here for the latest weather warnings and advisories.

On Thursday morning, the following roads were flooded or blocked by trees that fell during the heavy rain and some wind gusts:

Raleigh
One direction of Spring Forest Road at Shanda Drive
Raleigh Pines Drive and Marion Road in south Raleigh
