CHARLOTTE (CAROLINA SPORTS LIVE) — Carolina Panthers linebacker Nic Scourton tore his ACL on the first day of training camp Thursday.

He’s been ruled out for the year, according to Associated Press sources.
The news comes after Scourton was carted off the field during drills after appearing to have a right knee injury. Practice stopped while players went over to hug him on the way off the field.
The second-year player out of Texas A&M had five sacks in his rookie season. The 21-year-old was drafted in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The injury comes just days after the Panthers announced injuries to two other starters, CB Jaycee Horn and OT Taylor Moton.
Also Thursday afternoon, the team signed tight end Caden Prieskorn.
Prieskorn joins the Panthers after spending time last season on the practice squads of Detroit, Denver, Tampa Bay and Cleveland. He played his final two seasons of college football at Ole Miss, where he was a teammate of Carolina OLB Princely Umanmielen.
