RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A pedestrian died after being hit by a car along Blue Ridge Road Friday night in Raleigh, police said.

The crash was reported around 10:30 p.m. on Blue Ridge Road near Macon Pond Road beside UNC Rex Hospital, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

The victim, a man, was hit by a car and died, officers said.

Blue Ridge Road was closed for some time after the collision, which happened just north of the Lake Boone Trail intersection.
