After a sunny and comfortable Thursday, conditions look to be very similar on Friday. Temperatures will again fall into the 60s Friday morning before sunshine paired with southerly winds will warm temperatures into the upper 80s. Saturday will be a little warmer to start as humidity starts to increase again, with afternoon highs again pushing 90.

After the rainy weather to start the week, the region will be rain-free through Saturday, but changes arrive late in the weekend. A cold front will eventually move toward North Carolina, increasing rain chances Sunday. Showers and storms will develop by the afternoon and evening, but then the front will stall across the region on Monday, increasing rain chances again.
The front will gradually weaken through the middle of next week, keeping a daily chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the forecast, but allowing temperatures to climb back to normal levels with typical summertime pop-up storms, with many hours remaining dry. As always, any storm that develops could produce brief heavy downpours, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.
Temperatures will slowly climb through next week as humidity begins to increase once again. Highs should return to the lower and eventually middle 90s by the end of the week, signaling a return to more typical August heat. Until then, enjoy the sunshine, lower humidity, and temperatures running a few degrees below average while they last.
