CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — Eight people, including six children, are without a home after a fire in Chapel Hill Monday afternoon, according to town officials.

The blaze broke out at a house in the vicinity of Erwin Road and Sage Road. As a result of the fire, Chapel Hill officials said Erwin Road was closed between Sage Road and River Birch Lane for a few hours. It reopened shortly after 8:30 p.m., the town said.

Crews from the Chapel Hill Fire Department were on scene as of late Monday afternoon. Town officials said no injuries have been reported, and the American Red Cross has been notified.
