1 hospitalized after being shot on Deep Creek Road in Fayetteville, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — One person has been hospitalized following a shooting on Deep Creek Road in Fayetteville Friday night, according to police.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., officers responded to Deep Creek Road. They learned that a man had been shot in his backside in the 600 block of that road and then driven to a car wash at the end of the street near the intersection with Clinton Road.

From there, police said the man was taken by ambulance to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the shooting is not related to the human remains that were found on Deep Creek Road on Thursday night.

“This incident does not appear to be random nor related to the remains found outside the city limits of Fayetteville and in Cumberland County,” police said in a statement.

According to police, no suspect is in custody as of late Friday night.

The Fayetteville Police Department said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
