Raleigh driver at hospital after crash into home; traveled off Old Milburnie Road, through field before wreck: Police

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A man was hospitalized Sunday after he was injured when he lost control of his car, ran off the road through a field, and crashed into a northeast Raleigh home, police said.

The incident was reported just after 11 a.m. Sunday, when a man was driving along Old Milburnie Road just north of Buffaloe Road, according to the Raleigh Police Department.

The man lost control of his car, went through a field, and then crashed into a Milburnie Ridge neighborhood home on Snowy Ridge Circle, police said. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that are not considered life-threatening, officers said.

The home on a cul-de-sac was damaged from the crash involving what appeared to be a Jaguar X-type sedan.

A Raleigh police officer said the crash left “a nice little hole” in the home, but fire officials determined the damage did not compromise the structure of the house.

The family living in the home will not be displaced.

Police said they are investigating the crash to determine if charges will be filed.
