Beloved Raleigh entertainment venue, Adventure Landing, closing after 38 years, owner announces

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — After 38 years, a beloved Raleigh institution is closing its doors.

In a social media post on Thursday, Adventure Landing Owner Hank Woodburn announced that the entertainment venue would close its doors on Sunday, Aug. 16.

“It has truly been a privilege to bring fun, laughter, and lifelong memories to so many families throughout the years,” Woodburn said.

Since opening its doors in 1988, Adventure Landing has been the place where Raleigh visitors and residents could partake in minigolf, go-karting, and even laser tag in the later years of the business’s operation.

Woodburn expressed gratitude in the lengthy social media post made Thursday.

“We are incredibly grateful to the guests, employees, schools, churches, businesses, and community organizations that have supported us over the years,” Woodburn said. “From birthday parties and family outings to our annual Easter Egg Hunts on the mini golf course and countless community events, we’ve cherished every opportunity to give back and be part of so many special moments. While we are saddened to say goodbye, we will always be thankful for the memories we’ve created together.”

Adventure Landing said any tickets groupons or other outstanding offers someone may have should be redeemed before the park closes on Sunday.
