Severe thunderstorm warning, flash flood warning issued for parts of central NC

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A severe thunderstorm warning and flash flood warning has been issued for parts of two central North Carolina counties.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 2:56 p.m. for southeastern Cumberland County and northwestern Sampson County. The warning is set to expire at 4 p.m.

The NWS said hazards include 60 mph wind gusts.

In addition to the severe thunderstorm warning, a flash flood warning was issued for southeastern Cumberland County and all of Sampson County at 3:27 p.m. The warning is set to expire at 7:30 p.m.
