Severe storms rocked parts of central North Carolina, but it’s just rain and a thunderstorm we will have to deal with this weekend. Another weak cold front moved in on Friday, which helped instigate many of the storms Friday, but it also gave us our first day below 90° in more than a week.

Saturday will again have a few showers and storms, but not the severe threat. The weekend will also have temperatures below 90° both days. Saturday will see plenty of dry time, but an over 50% chance of showers and storms throughout the day. High temperatures will top out in the mid 80s.
Sunday will be mostly dry and a little warmer with highs in the upper 80s. That type of mostly dry, very warm weather sticks around Monday as many kids start back to school in central North Carolina.
Tuesday will see the possibility of a few showers and storms, but highs will stay in the mid to upper 80s. In fact, all of next week will see afternoon highs in the mid to uppers 80s. There are even a few mornings that may seem cool as lows dip into the mid to upper 60s Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The best chance of rain next week could be Thursday with a few more active showers and storms.
FORECAST
SATURDAY will be partly to mostly cloudy with a few scattered showers and storms. The high will be 85. Winds will be out of the south at 5 miles per hour.

OVERNIGHT will be partly cloudy and mostly dry. The low will be 70. Winds will be south at 5 miles per hour.
SUNDAY will be partly cloudy, warmer and mostly dry. The high will be 88. Winds will be out of the west at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
