Turns out it\u2019s not just you.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/raleighmovingnews.com\/?p=1160\">NASCAR\u2019s Kyle Busch was short of breath, coughing up blood day before his death, 911 call reveals<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Research from the AAA found six in ten drivers say headlight glare is a problem after dark, and nearly three-quarters of those affected believe it has worsened over the past decade.\u00a0AAA said more and more drivers are reporting frustration and concern about blinding headlights and the glare they give off.<\/p>\n<p>CBS 17 reporter Judith Retana has received several emails from drivers to say headlights on the road are a problem for them.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest reason those beams are brighter is the switch from halogen to LED lights on modern vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLED lights, that extended the view, so if you were a motorist and you\u2019re traveling, the old halogen lights didn\u2019t give you as far visibility as the LED lights do,\u201d said Tiffany Wright, spokesperson for AAA Carolinas.\u00a0\u201cSo, that was a reason why that change happened. But now, we\u2019re seeing that folks are on the other end, on the receiving end,\u00a0saying that they\u2019re experiencing more glare.\u201d<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Wright said those LED lights give off a blue hue, adding to the comfort for drivers on the receiving end.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With more people buying taller, larger vehicles, those lights often end up at eye level for drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/raleighmovingnews.com\/?p=1158\">Jordan Spieth shoots 62 and trails by 1 among early finishers at his hometown Byron Nelson<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are some things you can do to help yourself, like keeping your eyeglasses clean if you wear them and keeping your windshields free of gunk to avoid additional glare.<\/p>\n<p>Wright also recommends making sure your vehicle lights are well-maintained and aligned.<\/p>\n<p>You should avoid the \u201cmoth effect\u201d of looking directly into the light, too.<\/p>\n<p>More drivers on the road for Memorial Day weekend means more bright headlights on the road.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of folks want to leave late at night or very, very early in the morning \u2013 it\u2019s still dark,\u201d Wright advised.\u00a0\u201cMake sure that you\u2019re keeping your eyes on the road and you\u2019re not following that moth effect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There is technology in use in Europe that allows vehicles to auto-adjust headlight brightness, but it\u2019s not taking off in the U.S. just yet.
