DENVER (KDVR) \u2014 Denver International Airport officials said they will be performing an incident analysis after a person scaled the perimeter fence at the airport on Friday night before being hit and killed by a plane operated by Frontier Airlines.<\/p>\n

The incident analysis will include a review of an ongoing investigation following the incident, including a review of the airport\u2019s perimeter security program. <\/p>\n

The airport said it uses a combination of technology and performs continuous perimeter fence inspections. There are approximately 36 miles of perimeter fence at DIA.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a lot of fence to cover,\u201d said R.P. Newman, a veteran and Fox News security expert.<\/p>\n

Newman said incidents at the fenceline are generally picked up by a system called the Perimeter Intrusion Detection System, or PIDS.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat happens is an alarm is supposed to go off. Notification is supposed to be made to humans, not just one, either, that we have an intrusion along the fence. And of course, the great Denver Police Department is out there running that, but it is a massive piece of property. The chances of DPD or some other security agency arriving within just a few seconds and stopping the man is just not realistic, because it\u2019s so much property,\u201d Newman said.<\/p>\n
