GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) \u2014A Greensboro mother is upset at a North Carolina congresswoman who responded to a letter from her 10-year-old son.<\/p>\n

Christian Mango says he received a letter from Congresswoman Virginia Foxx.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could understand half of it. But not all of it,\u201d Christian said.<\/p>\n

His mother, Emily Mango, says the reply from Foxx was regarding an assignment from Christian\u2019s teacher at Canterbury School in Greensboro.<\/p>\n

\u201cChristian and his class, they wrote a persuasive essay of their choosing. They mailed it off to a representative, a CEO, whoever the decision maker was to be influential in their persuasive essay points,\u201d Emily said.<\/p>\n

Christian says the topic he chose involved electric vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should have a $5,000 tax rebate. For electric cars, because they\u2019re better than normal cars. They\u2019re better for the environment. They pay less. And there\u2019s no gas,\u201d Christian said.<\/p>\n

Christian says in April, he mailed the essay to Foxx in a Canterbury School envelope with 4th grade on the return address.<\/p>\n

A few weeks later, the school received this letter from Representative Foxx via email.<\/p>\n

While the congresswoman thanked the 10-year-old for contacting her, she disagreed with his proposal.<\/p>\n

Foxx cited 6 articles, from news organizations such as Fox News and the Wall Street Journal.<\/p>\n

But towards the end of her response, she attacked Christian\u2019s teacher.<\/p>\n

\u201cAsk your teacher to explain propaganda to you. I will never be able to know. My guess is that your teacher will not be able to give you a good educational experience by helping you. Because they are too interested in indoctrinating you. How sad,\u201d Foxx said.<\/p>\n

After Christian\u2019s mother explained to him what Foxx\u2019s response meant, the 10-year-old says he\u2019s upset Foxx went after his teacher when Christian was the one who chose the topic of his essay.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that was wrong\u2026.because the school didn\u2019t do anything,\u201d Christian said.<\/p>\n

Emily Mango slammed Foxx\u2019s response on social media and is now demanding an apology to her son.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Representative Foxx attacked him and attacked his teachers and said that his teachers are indoctrinating him with propaganda. How do you even explain that to a 10-year-old in 4th grade? We told our son that is not an okay response. Nobody should talk to a child like that and nobody should talk to a teacher like that. She crossed the line,\u201d Emily said.<\/p>\n

We reached out to Rep. Foxx\u2019s office about whether she wrote this response or if someone else on her team did.<\/p>\n

We also asked if she planned to apologize to Christian and his teacher for her remarks and we\u2019re waiting for a response.<\/p>\n
