RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) \u2014 While temperatures are running close to normal for late May, the lack of humidity has made a difference in how it feels outdoors. <\/p>

While most of central North Carolina will remain dry, a few isolated showers or thunderstorms could develop during the afternoon, mainly across the Sandhills and southern counties. Many locations will see nothing more than a few passing clouds.<\/p>\n

The weekend forecast remains favorable for outdoor plans. Sunday should be slightly cooler, with highs closer to 80 degrees as another weak boundary drifts through the region. This could bring a few showers to the area on Monday, but it should again be isolated and light.<\/p>\n

Next week, temperatures will remain near seasonal averages through midweek, with highs generally in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Humidity levels will gradually increase as winds turn back out of the south, bringing a more summer-like feel back to the area.<\/p>\n

Rain chances also begin to creep upward during the latter part of next week as moisture returns. While no widespread soaking rain is currently expected, scattered showers and thunderstorms will become more common. Temperatures are forecast to warm back into the mid to upper 80s by the end of next week and into the following weekend.<\/p>\n
