The pleasant weather continues on Sunday. High pressure will remain in control, bringing abundant sunshine, light winds, and afternoon highs near 80 degrees. Aside from a few thin high clouds, conditions will be nearly ideal for outdoor plans across the region.<\/p>

Changes arrive Monday as a stationary boundary lifts back north and interacts with an approaching disturbance. <\/p>\n

Scattered showers could develop during the morning, but the better chance for more widespread rain arrives Monday afternoon and evening as another cold front pushes into the area. <\/p>\n

Rain coverage is expected to be higher than what we\u2019ve seen recently, with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms possible.<\/p>\n

Behind the front, cooler and drier air settles back into central North Carolina for Tuesday through Thursday. High temperatures will remain near 80 degrees, while lower humidity levels make for another stretch of comfortable early June weather.<\/p>\n

The dry pattern won\u2019t last forever, however. By late next week, high pressure shifts offshore, allowing warmer and more humid air to return from the south. Temperatures are expected to climb back toward 90 degrees by next weekend, and with the added moisture, the chance for typical summertime afternoon showers and thunderstorms will increase once again.<\/p>
